Troubleshooting Economy Retractable Banners

Retractable Banner Stands can sometimes seem complicated to set up, and as with anything that has moving parts, things can go wrong. However, there are some very easy steps you can take to fix any trouble you may run into. Let’s start with some instructions on setting up the banner stand. It’s pretty simple to do, and proper setup can help avoid any unwanted complications.

Setting up:

1) Open up the feet on the base. They should turn so they are perpendicular to the base.

2) Remove the locking key from the base. It will be on the side of the base and look like a little metal loop. Note: you can clip it into the bottom of the stand for safekeeping when the stand is not in use. For now, keep it within reach, you’ll need again it once the stand is set up.

3) Extend the pole. The pole is in three parts. By twisting each section to the left you can loosen the pole and extend it to the appropriate height. Twisting the pole to the right will lock it in place.

4) Insert the pole in the base. There is a plastic piece that the bottom of the pole will fit into.

5) Extend the banner. Carefully pull the banner up by the top and hook it into the top of the pole.

6) Put the locking key back into the base. Doing this will help keep the tension off the retracting mechanism when the stand is in use.

5) Extend the banner. Carefully pull the banner up by the top and hook it into the top of the pole.

Taking Down:

1) Remove the locking pin. Take the locking pin out of the base to engage the retracting mechanism. Now you can clip it into that spot under the base for safe keeping until the next use.

2) Unhook the banner from the pole. When you unhook the banner, carefully and slowly guide it back into the base.

3) Remove the pole. Simply lift it out and twist the sections to the left to loosen, and to the right to tighten back into place once it is collapsed.

4) Place everything in the case.

Common problems

One of the most common issues we have heard from customers about this stand is that the banner won’t retract. While this can be frustrating when you are trying to pack up in a hurry, it is actually very easy to correct. If you find your banner is not retracting properly, all you need to do is lift up the banner (as if to set it up) stop, and allow it to retract. In some cases, it may take a couple of tries, but the mechanism should engage, and retract as it should.
